Requirements for USB-C Adapters
- Your notebook or PC must have a USB-C port. Using a USB-C female to USB-A male adapter on a USB-A port does not work.
- Your notebook or PC must be running Windows 10, 8.1 or Mac OS X Yosemite (10.10) or later, or Chrome OS (R53 or later)
- For video output, your USB-C equipped device must support DisplayPort Alt Mode over USB-C.
- Dual / Multiple video is only supported on Windows 10 and 8.1 devices (Mac OS and Chrome USB-C devices do not support dual / multiple video over MST).
- To charge your notebook via an adapter with Power Delivery, your USB-C device must support Power Delivery.
- Mac OS devices will need a one-time software driver download to support the Ethernet port.
- Make sure the graphics driver on your USB-C device is up to date. Many video problems, such as flickering or fuzziness, can be fixed by running a system update on your device to update the drivers.
- USB-C is compatible with your Thunderbolt 3 port, but it will not support full Thunderbolt 3 speeds and specifications.
